kibbe rocks the city

A week or so ago I get a MySpace message from this cute little blonde girl claiming to be Beck's sister saying that her music is rad and I should check it out, etc (mind you I'm just paraphrasing).

As it turns out, Miss Alyssa Suede Campbell is not only REALLY Beck's sister (David Campbell is his father, for those of you who aren't as enthusiastic about his life like I am), but she is actually REALLY freaking good. You will immediately get sucked in to "Fallout" if you take the second to check her out on her MySpace. Her other songs "Jaded and Strange", "Jack Jill", "Falling From Mars", and "The Flood" are sugary sweet but totally solid jams. Admittedly, I'm not super into "Ferris Wheel" at the moment, but it's not bad at all, really.

She doesn't have many MySpace friends, she just started a Facebook music page. From the looks of it she doesn't have a label deal. She's done pretty good with making sure her SEO is really strong. I really don't have much of a story to tell you about her other than she just hit me up out of the blue and I am definitely a fan of her music now.

This is totally like how Rufus Wainwright's entire family is sick-talented. I guess you could say she's the Martha Wainwright of this family. Hopefully she'll pick up just as much recognition as ol' Martha did, if not more.

I'm really interested to see where this goes. I hope nothing but the best for her.
