The internet, I have some sad news this Wednesday afternoon. I just learned from my friend Eric that Florida singer/songwriter of Twothirtyeight and Discover America fame, Chris Staples, has been in a very bad bike accident. I don't know a whole lot of details other than that Chris will be in a wheelchair for quite some time and thus not be able to work.

There's been a paypal account set up specifically for donations so people can help him out financially since he won't be able to provide for himself. The email address is: discoveramericafan@hotmail.com . Just click on Send Money and beam some dollah bill$ over his way.

If you've ever been a fan of Chris' work the way I've been, please skip Starbucks for a week and give the guy a chunk of your change. I have been listening to some form of Chris Staples since I was in high school. I remember the day I found out that Twothirtyeight was breaking up and I cried like a baby. A lot of good memories associated with this band.
